Engineering
Jamison Industries uses the latest in computer technology to take your part from an idea to
proto-type to production.  We can work together and design a part that fits your application.  In the
engineering process we have extensive experience in the manufacturing processes.  We can make
recommendations that will decrease cycle times and reduce end costs.
CAD/CAM
CAD is "Computer Aided Design or Drawing" where CAM is "Computer Aided Machining".  The two
words are used together often in the machining industry but have different meanings.  In the process
of engineering a part, Jamison Industries will draw your part on the computer using CAD software.
This will give us a digital model of exactly what your part looks like.  The software then generates
"G Code" from the digital model.  G code is the language that is used to program the machines.
The G code is inputted into the machine and a part is made from that
code.  This is generated G code is CAM.  This process eliminates any human
programming errors.  The above example was generated using CAD software
and then it was machined  at Jamison Industries.  Click the thumbnail to the

Jamison Industries uses BobCAD CAD/CAM software, predator CNC editor and virtual
machine.  This software package allows us to design the part, generate G code, and simulate the
actual machining of the part on the computer before the work actually gets to the machine.  This
allows us to address any errors or issues before material is cut, resulting in less scrap and a
quicker set-up time.
